Why do you choose abstract art ?
I think that abstract art is the highest level of art because it does not tell you exactly what it is. I began with the basic drawings/sketches (similar to when you study algebra in primary school), and then I used those basics to move on to more advanced subject matter (like you would study advanced mathematics at a university).
What does your art brings to others ?
My art heals the soul and brings peace, harmony and light. Whoever takes the time to really look at my work should feel a change within themselves before taking their eyes off the painting. This is my wish.
What inspires you ?
My inspiration comes from everyday things — the sound of a plane, a boat horn, train, church bell, or even the way some people dress (like people in uniforms such as police officers or members of a church choir). I paint for myself but also for everyone who admires paintings.
What do you gain in painting ?
It is the source of my happiness. This is what I live for. It is the best way for me to express my independence — especially when I use colors. I feel closer to the creator.
What does the obscure writing represent in your art ?
It represents liberty. Not everyone is allowed to read my thoughts, so I have total freedom through this writing.
Why did you choose to paint ?
Without my paintings, I am nobody. I have to paint all of the time. It is extremely important for my survival. Painting for me is like what air is for lungs.
Why do you use wood as a base for your painting ?
I think it is something that I was born with. My ancestors used wood a lot because most of them were carpenters.
